Looking for something different for your annual family Christmas card? Then we suggest you take advantage of a family portrait photography session so you could order beautiful, unique and personalized Christmas cards for your friends and family. Parks in London during this time of the year offer a great setting for gorgeous family pictures and they’re also a fantastic, absorbing playground for small children. If you’re visiting London, then maybe a family photo session around its many famous landmarks is something that will appeal more.

In August, we got to meet this beautiful family who flew in from Philadelphia to visit the UK and decided to have their annual family portraits taken around London. We met at London Eye Pier so that we could take photos around the City of Westminster, and then we walked towards Charing Cross. We chose this route because that way we could do photos with the London Eye, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament in the background – some of London’s most enduring landmarks – and then we were able to have a short stop in Victoria Tower Gardens. Children love to play in the park, and a distraction like this allows them to see the whole process as something more fun rather than a boring thing they “must” do.

The promise of climbing the lions in Trafalgar Square and hiding in red telephone boxes kept their interest as they walked towards Trafalgar Square. To end this three-hour journey, we went to Stamford Bridge in West London and captured great images of Alex and Dominique playing in front of Chelsea Football Club. They knew all the names of Chelsea players by heart: they even play soccer back home. We were amazed by how natural they were in front of the camera. We didn’t even have to pull the proverbial “rabbit out of the hat” to capture their beautiful smiles.

And Mum and Dad made this session so easy for everybody: after all, walking through the crowds of tourists for more than two miles is not exactly the most comfortable activity on a hot summer day… But we all enjoyed it and here you can see how fabulous everyone looks in these family portraits around some of London’s most famous landmarks:
